Take Me Out To The Ball Game

Since last weekend was my last weekend in Toledo, my dad got us tickets for his company’s suite for the local baseball team, The Mud Hens. He knows it is one of my favorite things to do! I really like sports, especially live, I might not always know exactly what is going on but I am good at drinking beer, eating, cheering, and anything else one does at a sporting event. Now there is no excuse why one cannot be cute and comfortable at a sporting event, especially baseball! It is cold weather at the moment, so I am wearing my favorite t-shirt ever, I got it from the mens sections, women’s sports gear is seriously so horrible, I tied it up and layered it over a button down just so I had something exciting. I then added a jacket because it was cold and an amazing necklace from Vanessa Mooney, I love her stuff. Once it gets warmer I will definitely throw on a baseball hat, shorts, and little Nikes or skaters to be comfortable since it is usually sweltering heat if the game is during the day! A red lip will make anything glamorous, so why not wear one to a baseball game?! I will miss The Mud Hens, but now I guess I have to choose between The Cubs and The White Sox!

Cap It Off

This post was supposed to be all about The Ohio State Buckeyes winning the Orange Bowl on Friday, hence the “yay we won” pose at the end, but now it will be focused strictly on fashion. As if I really knew what I was going to say if they did win! Anyway, for my outfits recently I can’t help but say they are inspired by Beyoncé. Cheesy I know, but if you listen to her album and watch the videos that accompany it you might understand. All of them are insanely sexy, cool and unapologetic of who she is. I tried to bring that casual, sexy and cool feeling to my outfit. The cropped trend is holding strong in 2014, so I paired my cropped sweater with a pencil skirt, which can be dressed up, but I wanted to keep it really casual. To maintain that chill vibe, I tied a plaid shirt around my waist, added a baseball cap and my favorite booties. The plaid shirt is from The Kooples, a French brand, it is on every corner in Paris, similar to our Starbucks, but for us here in the U.S it is worth checking out. This outfit is great for a cool Sunday brunch, to host a game night or to meet friends at a sports bar. When in doubt, just pretend you’re Beyoncé, life is more fun that way!

Sweat Pants, Hair Tied

Well, my hair is not tied, even though it should be because it was an absolute mess, but I am in sweatpants! Christmas is sadly over, and after the many holiday parties, massive amounts of food and too many Christmas cookies, the last thing I want to do is get dressed up to leave the house. Sweatpants are totally acceptable attire to leave the house in if done right. The key to wearing sweatpants without looking frumpy is to be sure they have some structure to them, a cute, similar pair can be found here. Add a pair of comfy heels to your comfy clothes and head out to your post holiday errands. If heels aren’t your thing, a cute pair of Vans or if these Celine shoes found their way under your Christmas tree, kick those on and head out. I tucked my sweatpants into my booties, however you could roll them up and cuff them if thats more your style. Another fabulous shoe option would be a pointed toe stiletto. I was feeling this sweater so I threw it on, a similar one is here. If a sweater is too oversized, try a t-shirt with a leather jacket! To glam up my look I added some midi rings, earrings and a pink lip, but I think this look is best kept simple. I really hope everyone had a wonderful Christmas and holiday season. Stay comfy until the 31st!

All Black Everything

ImageBlouse: Givenchy||Jacket: Maison Scotch by Scotch & Soda||Pants: Express||Shoes: Vintage {Pics by Mirapics}

Black coat, black pants, black on black, black blouse… now imagine Jay-Z rapping that. In all seriousness, there is nothing better than an all black outfit. Whenever I am unsure of an events dress code I go to these black pants and one of the many black blouses I’ve seem to collected, but this Givenchy one is obviously my favorite! Since most people pull their sequin pieces out of their closet during the holiday season, even though I am an advocate for sequins year round, I decided to put on this blazer from Maison Scotch by Scotch and Soda to add a little holiday glam. Maison Scotch always has the coolest pieces with the best little details that you won’t find anywhere else. I just love that leather and zipper detail on the sleeve. If you’re looking for a subdued sequin piece for the holidays a similar jacket can be found here. The little booties are vintage and I absolutely love them because the shape reminds me of Saint Laurent Paris, which is my favorite, and the bow makes it a little girly. Black is the new black, so when in doubt, wear it.

Hi little Karl on my gloves! I mean how amazing are these? Karl Lagerfeld, the creative director of Chanel, opened up some stores in Paris this summer selling clothes, shoes and accessories from his own line. He is very well known for his own signature style which always includes a pair of gloves, so it was only appropriate he would create them for his own line. His collection is sold in the US online and similar gloves can be found here. This style of gloves is absolutely perfect for this cold season, you can wear them and text at the same time. If you plan on never taking them off definitely add midi rings. To keep up the midi style, I wore an amazing vintage, tulle midi skirt. The slip underneath is similar to a pencil skirt which shows off your curves, while the tulle overlay has the midi style which keeps things subtly sexy. A similar skirt can be found here and here. I then paired it with a crop top, my go to booties, a cute hat and this coat which is totally from the 90’s I found in the back of my mother’s closet. For the holiday season, which includes endless parties, it is fun to try new looks that take you out of your comfort zone. Try a new accessory or add a hat to an outfit you wouldn’t expect, most likely everyone will be envious of your confidence to rock such a thing. Happy holiday partying!

Subtly Sexy

Los Angeles may be known for their daisy dukes and bikini tops, but there is something subtly sexy about being all covered up. Trust me, I have had this theory confirmed. After eating an enormous amount of dim sum in China town, the last thing I wanted to do was take blog pics in this body conscious dress, but don’t worry, I hiked a mile up a mountain in these booties so I was good to go once we reached the top. The view is unbeatable, you can see Dodgers stadium, downtown Los Angeles and beyond. I kept this look super simple because I personally think it’s sexier that way and lets the clothes speak for themselves. I have always been afraid of not showing off my legs for fear of appearing short, but I have come to find that longer dresses can make me appear taller. It is all about finding the right cut that suits your body. If you think this simple cut is for you, a very similar dress can be found here. I wore my favorite booties and favorite leather jacket, I get a lot of use out of both of these pieces so if you’re on the edge about buying one of these items I say go for it! They totally go with everything and will last for seasons to come.

Santa Monica Sunset

For a day of shopping around freezing Santa Monica I went super comfy and casual. I’ve said before how much I love my boyfriend jeans, I can’t live without them, but I was trying to figure out a fresher way to wear them than the usual two roll cuff. Since it was a little chilly by the beach and I wanted my ankles covered I only cuffed my jeans once, very sloppily I must say, but I absolutely die for it! I think the look is super sexy in the “I just rolled out of bed and my pants happen to be cuffed like this” sort of way. To keep that vibe going I tied up a t-shirt, put on my go to leather jacket and then the most amazing hat to cover my real just rolled out of bed hair. I love the tartan detail weaved throughout the silver chain of the hat, its a very simple way to bring the tartan trend into your wardrobe, and can be found here. I’m enjoying my last sun filled day in LA today, but I have many more LA outfits to come!

Stone Cold Fox

Coat: Zara Shoes: Steve Madden Scarf: Abercrombie & Fitch

Literally, I was as frozen as stone. Look at the ground, there are leaves like fall and snow like winter, what is happening? I was so conflicted with this weather situation that I couldn’t decide what to wear. So I put on this coat, booties and the most amazing scarf and went about my day. I was going to be running errands and I decided to make my coat my outfit. It’s easy, chic and super warm. And lets be real, how many times have we seen Kate Middleton sporting a coat as her outfit, if she can do it so can we! So go for it, channel your inner royalty and just be sure to have the proper clothing on underneath… or don’t and surprise your boyfriend! ; )
