Take Me Out To The Ball Game

Since last weekend was my last weekend in Toledo, my dad got us tickets for his company’s suite for the local baseball team, The Mud Hens. He knows it is one of my favorite things to do! I really like sports, especially live, I might not always know exactly what is going on but I am good at drinking beer, eating, cheering, and anything else one does at a sporting event. Now there is no excuse why one cannot be cute and comfortable at a sporting event, especially baseball! It is cold weather at the moment, so I am wearing my favorite t-shirt ever, I got it from the mens sections, women’s sports gear is seriously so horrible, I tied it up and layered it over a button down just so I had something exciting. I then added a jacket because it was cold and an amazing necklace from Vanessa Mooney, I love her stuff. Once it gets warmer I will definitely throw on a baseball hat, shorts, and little Nikes or skaters to be comfortable since it is usually sweltering heat if the game is during the day! A red lip will make anything glamorous, so why not wear one to a baseball game?! I will miss The Mud Hens, but now I guess I have to choose between The Cubs and The White Sox!

Black and Blue

Black and blue are my favorite colors right now for many reasons but the main one is they truly look fab together. I suggest you try it out now while it is still considered winter time.. even you crazy kids in LA with 80 degree weather! So jealous. I have said it before I absolutely adore this sweater, but even with the details on the collar it can be kind of boring just paired with black pants. I tried it on with this black tuxedo vest that I actually bought ages ago and it added a certain je ne sais quoi to my outfit and I loved it. To spice things up I added a lot of rings, I am totally into the pinky ring and if you watched the Golden Globes and the SAG Awards almost every celeb had one on. The great thing about that is if it fits your pinky it will probably fit your other fingers as a midi ring! So I say definitely look at it as a good investment with multiple uses. I can find a way to justify any purchase.. if you ever need a reason to buy something just ask me! Lastly, the other day my friend asked why I rarely have purses in my posts and honestly I never carry a purse, unless I am doing some serious running around. I always carry my wallet and put my phone in my pocket, I’m sure one day I will lose it and I will regret not having a purse but when I was 16 I lost my beloved Louis Vuitton purse a week after I bought it and I only had a piece of paper in it, I know I was being very irresponsible, but even now as a semi-responsible adult I don’t see the point in risking another loss if I only need to carry one thing! It was found by the way, or else I doubt I would be alive to tell the tale.

P.S. I have had a lot of people ask what color my nail polish is, it is Lilacism by Essie. I keep painting my nails with it over and over again because it brightens up this dreary weather and honestly it somehow goes with everything.

I know I’m a little late I just rolled out of bed… kidding. However, this post is totally inspired by the Victoria’s Secret fashion show, we all wish we could be one of their angels. Besides that, lingerie inspired clothing is very on trend in a high fashion way because of collections from Louis Vuitton, Nina Ricci and Rodarte. I was not about to go buy a new dress that looked exactly like my night gown, so I just wore my night gown, a similar one can be found here or an actual lingerie inspired dress can be found here. Since mine is still technically lingerie, I did my best to make it daytime appropriate, so I covered up with the most amazing 3.1 Phillip Lim for Target sweater which is on sale here. The jewel and sequin detail on the neck are my favorite! If you don’t have a favorite sweater try covering up with a leather jacket or even a fur, faux of course. Since it is cold out I wore boots to cover my legs. Beyond the lingerie trend, black and navy are my two favorite colors right now. The key to wearing these two colors, in my opinion, is mixing different textures. So go get a blow out, put on your favorite lingerie, whether people see it or not, and strut your stuff like a VS angel in a new trend! I’ll leave you with a quote from the wonderful Dita Von Teese, “Don’t save your good lingerie for dates, wear it for YOU.”

Santa Monica Sunset

For a day of shopping around freezing Santa Monica I went super comfy and casual. I’ve said before how much I love my boyfriend jeans, I can’t live without them, but I was trying to figure out a fresher way to wear them than the usual two roll cuff. Since it was a little chilly by the beach and I wanted my ankles covered I only cuffed my jeans once, very sloppily I must say, but I absolutely die for it! I think the look is super sexy in the “I just rolled out of bed and my pants happen to be cuffed like this” sort of way. To keep that vibe going I tied up a t-shirt, put on my go to leather jacket and then the most amazing hat to cover my real just rolled out of bed hair. I love the tartan detail weaved throughout the silver chain of the hat, its a very simple way to bring the tartan trend into your wardrobe, and can be found here. I’m enjoying my last sun filled day in LA today, but I have many more LA outfits to come!

Lumberjack Chic

Flannel: Forever 21 Jacket: Gap Jeans: Zara Shoes: Topshop Beanie: H&M Necklace: LionetteNY Purse: Louis Vuitton

Every midwestern girl has a flannel in her closet and they are definitely a staple for fall, which can create a challenge to make your lumberjack look unique. I glammed up my flannel by adding a loose sequin jacket and heels. Wearing sequins during the day can be scary, but by pairing a sequined item with denim and contrasting textures it will remain casual. I wore mine with boyfriend jeans and a beanie because they are my two most favorite things. During the fall don’t be afraid to play with textures and layering, that’s what makes fall fashion fun!
